MOUNTAIN: DACHSTEIN GLACIER
With the Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard, you can visit the Dachstein for free one time during a 7-day period (when you stay at least 2 nights). Aboard the panorama gondola, in barely 6 minutes you will float 1000 vertical meters up the mountainside, where so many opportunities await. Gaze out from the Skywalk viewing platform, walk across the 100 meters-long suspension footbridge, or climb the "Stairway to Nothingness" (not included!). The Dachstein is a quite extraordinary experience. We advise reserving well in advance - space is limited and in very high demand.
WATER: A COOL, REFRESHING DIP IS PART OF EVERY SUMMER HOLIDAY.
The combination of mountain and water is unbeatable, as Kaia, our Deputy Destination manager in Schladming, explained to us in her blog entry "Summer Highlights from Our Employees". FAMILY: HOPSILAND, PLANAI GONDOLA
In Hopsiland on the Planai, hiking is especially great fun. On the 1.5 km-long hiking path that starts next to the top station of the Planai gondola (free ride up!), you will pass swings, climbing frames, slides and even a water world. Always a hit with big and small: the marble runs plus panning for gold in Rabbit Creek. A children's program is also offered during summer holidays, including crafts, painting, face painting and more.
Ultra-cool: the new Bike Arena in the middle of Hopsiland, a great opportunity for the youngsters to enjoy their first taste of mountain biking on easy trails. Sound right for you? In that case, the Junior Trails on the Reiteralm are a must!
TOLL ROAD: STODERZINKEN
Now you have a green light to cruise the 12 km-long, highest alpine road in Austria. With the Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard, you get to drive the Stoderzinken toll road for free. The summit of the 2048 meters-high mountain is even doable for families. A somewhat more challenging path leads past Peace Chapel, which Styrian folk poet Peter Rosegger also visited in his day. The Stoderzinken is a popular summit for sunrise tours. Home to via ferratas, the zipline and Flying Coaster of Gröbming Adventure Park (Bonus Partner), also a rewarding excursion destination for adventurers.
ACTION: PARAGLIDING SAMPLER COURSE
And since we are on the topic of adventure: During this free intro to paragliding, a pro will show you how to prepare and take off from the practice slope. Once you have tasted blood, so to speak, you might have the urge to book a tandem flight from the Planai or Hochwurzen – at a discounted price! Registration required.

Let's be honest here: It wasn't easy making our selection since we find so many other things fantastic as well, including Forest Bathing, the guided gorge tour through Wörschach Klamm, the bus shuttle to the Ursprungalm, the Family Adventure Hike, along with Sampler Climbing for the kids. And then there's mini golf, the family scavenger hunt through Schladming, a visit to Mother Nature's highest pharmacy ... As you can see: A holiday in Schladming-Dachstein has a lot to offer – and with the Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard, the selection of excursion destinations and activities is simply enormous! HOW TO OBTAIN YOUR SCHLADMING DACHSTEIN SOMMERCARD
So, how do you get hold of a Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard of your own? This guest card will automatically be issued to you when you check in at our ALPS RESORTS in Ennstal. There's no added charge since the Card is included with the cost of your stay. Take advantage of your first attraction after 1 PM on arrival day. Meanwhile, the Card is valid for the rest of your stay, including all day on the day you leave.
