Holidays in the “secret jewel” of Hohe Tauern National Park
30 km long, Raurisertal is actually the largest National Park community in SalzburgerLand by area, though home to only 3000 permanent residents. The people of Rauris are proud of their traditions and genuine authenticity. You, too, will be able to experience deeply rooted local folk customs during your holiday at Carpe Solem Rauris, including the Perchten Parade in January, the legendary Stallion Drive in June and Harvest Festival in September.
In Raurisertal, you are greeted by a holiday away from the big tourist meccas, amid intact nature and the Austrian mountains. For centuries, this was also a center of gold mining, which is why today’s visitors still find interesting traces of those days in the distant past: on theme paths in Kolm Saigurn, in the Rauris Valley Museum and at two different gold panning sites. In the center of Rauris, you will walk past several buildings once owned by well-to-do mine owners. A town map with historical details is available at our reception.
